About
What this site is
This site is a free lot size calculator for forex and metals. You enter your account currency, balance, risk percentage and stop distance in pips, and it returns the lot size, the position size in units, the amount you are risking, the margin required, the value of one pip and the risk/reward ratio.
It covers 30 instruments: 28 currency pairs plus gold (XAUUSD) and silver (XAGUSD). Each pair carries its own quoting convention, so a pip on a JPY pair sits on the second decimal while a pip on a four-decimal pair sits on the fourth. The calculator applies the correct convention for whichever instrument you pick, and prints it on screen so you can check it.
Index CFDs such as US30, NAS100 and SPX500 are left out on purpose. Their contract size and point value differ from broker to broker, so any number printed here would be a guess. For those, read your broker's contract specification.
How it works
The whole tool is a single static page. Every calculation happens in your own browser — nothing you type is sent anywhere, and there is no server-side step involved in producing a result. Reload the page and the fields are empty again, because nothing was ever stored.
There is no live market feed. The site does not fetch prices and will never display a price it did not get from you. You read the current price from your broker and type it in.
There is no account, no sign-up and no saved history. This is deliberate: a calculator you can open and use in five seconds does not need one.
Who maintains it
Lot Size Calculator is maintained by an independent developer.
Corrections
If a number looks wrong, or a pip convention does not match what your broker shows, send the instrument and the inputs you used to [email protected]. Contract sizes and pip conventions follow standard industry practice, but broker configurations vary and mistakes are possible.
